PSB News Vol. V In The Works!

        Over the past few weeks we have been working on numerous projects and we would like to take a moment to share a few of them with you! On February 15, 2011 PSB Foundation launched its first fundraiser! This fundraiser was conducted in order to help our organization with start-up costs such as the submission of our 501(c)(3) application with the IRS, and promotional materials such as flyers, pamphlets etc. We had numerous participants who volunteered their time to assist with fundraising efforts and it was a success! We would like to thank everyone who participated in any way, whether you were a customer, a promoter or an actual seller. We truly could not have done it without all of you!!
       Although our last fundraiser was a success, we are still a little short on funds needed to pay for start-up costs. We would like to continue to work towards our goals with our next scheduled fundraising event. We will be selling dinners on Friday May 4, 2012. Below is the menu for you to view, if you would like to place an order please do so today! You can send an email to events@psb-foundation.org with your order. Once you place your order you will receive a total and you will need to pay for your order via PayPal. (There is no need to set up an account) Once you have emailed your order and paid for it you will be given the location to pick up your order on Friday May 4, 2012!

Current Opportunities:

Board Treasurer: We are currently searching for an individual to fill the position of Treasurer on our Board of Directors.

Position description: The Board Treasurer will be responsible for book-keeping and financial statements for our organization.

Position Requirements: Candidate must posses strong organizational and planning skills. Must be proficient in basic computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet usage. Must posses current BS degree in accounting, CPA certification or PA certification is a plus but not required. Qualified candidate must have 1+ years of accounting experience and past history of working with business accounts.  Experience with non-profit organizations prefered but not required.

Volunteer Coordinator: We are currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Volunteer Coordinator.

Position Description: The Volunteer Coordinator board member will manage volunteers within our organization working closely with them to keep track of availabilities of each volunteer. The candidate will also recruit volunteers as need and assemble volunteer groups for designated tasks and events.

Requirements: Candidate must posses strong organizational and planning skills. Must be proficient in basic computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet usage. Must have strong record keeping skills (for volunteer tracking). Human resources experience or similar supervisory background required.
